(July 17, 2017) A team of Buonarroti-Pozzo Technical Institute students from Trento has been selected to represent Italy at the first edition of FIRST Global, an international robotics competition that takes place until July 20 in Washington, US. The event, internationally, will see students from 160 countries around the world facing each other. The Italian team, consisting of six students, has creatively constructed a robot, starting with a kit provided to all participating nations, capable of reclaiming river waters in a collaborative and competitive game with teams from five other nations, which will become a simulation of a reality task. The aim of the competition is to spread the scientific culture and contribute to the formation of a generation that will face some of the most pressing issues in the environmental and economic sphere. "It is not the first time that our school stands out in an international competition," said the president of the province of Trento, Ugo Rossi. "We are proud, once again, that a team from Trento represents Italy in such an important challenge. Congratulations and good luck to our boys. "
