(July 18, 2017) In recent days, the Consul General of Italy in La Plata, Iacopo Foti, visited the Geriatric Municipal "Hogar de Ancianos Dardo Rocha" located in the locality of Villa Elisa within which it operates, following a Convention signed in 1992 between the Town Hall of La Plata and Comites, a pavilion entirely reserved for Italian citizens. During his visit, the General Consul, accompanied by Adriana di Camillo, Directora de Entitades y Culto of the municipality of La Plata, visited the structure, met with the fellow countrymen currently admitted and held a meeting with the new Director of the Institute, Juan Carlos Cherry. At the meeting, the Consul General underlined the great importance of this municipal structure for both the Consulate and the Italian community of the area, renewing the commitment and collaboration of the Consulate General under the current convention. ABOUT / THE CONSUL

Iacopo Foti assumed the leadership of the Consulate General of Italy in La Plata on April 17, 2014. Born in Florence on November 19, 1981, he grew up mainly in Rome, after graduating from classical economics at the Commercial University Luigi Bocconi Of Milan, and completed his studies at the CEMS Master at the École des Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) in Paris. After several professional experiences in the private sector, following a public competition, he entered a diplomatic career on November 14, 2011.
