Luca Ciarla violin concert

(October 9, 2017) Luca Ciarla's violin will be the absolute protagonist of the concert "Luca and the violin" organised by the Italian Institute of Culture of Tokyo on October 12th at the IIC. Ciarla will play his violin like a guitar, a cello, or as a percussion. He will also sing, whistle, play other small instruments, turning into a solo string band. Luca Ciarla began playing the violin at the age of 8 and at the age of 12 he graduated from the conservatory in violin in 1993. He continued his studies at the Fiesole School of Music and the High School of Saluzzo. In 1996 he moved to the United States to attend a masters at Indiana University and to study jazz with David Baker. He later completed a Ph.D. in music at the University of Arizona where he then taught for a few years. Over the years he worked with artists such as Greg Cohen, Chris Jarrett, Daniele Sepe, Joshua, Danilo Rea, Anthony Fernandes, Luciano Berio, and many more. (Red)
