Boston, Panama, Paris, Amsterdam, and Siena come together to train young musicians in a very new project that aims to make them ambassadors of collaboration among peoples. The agreement establishing the birth of GAIA (Global Association for the Interconceptive Arts) - the international association of institutions of musical higher education that sees Siena Jazz, the Berklee Global Jazz Institute in Boston, the Panama Jazz Festival, the Paris Conservatory of Music and Dance, and the Amsterdam Conservatory joined in a new educational programme; will be signed next January 18th in Panama during the Panama Jazz Festival. The project was born in Siena last July during the International IASJ Jazz Meeting and aims to offer a selection of young artists from each of the participating institutions the opportunity to develop their MUSICAL talent linking research and experimentation with to themes of solidarity and respect for human dignity. The idea is to build a new style of music making that is open to interconnections with other performing arts.
