2018 brought about the launch of the cultural programme implemented by the Foreign Ministry, "Italia, Culture, Mediterraneo" through its foreign network. It will continue throughout the year in the Middle East, North Africa, and the Gulf. Turkey will also be part of the integrated programme "Italy, Culture, Mediterranean" with a varied programme presented by the Italian Embassy in Ankara, the Italian Institute of Culture in Istanbul, and the Consulate of Smyrna. The programme will range from music to archeology, from theatre to cinema and which will include the participation in international festivals throughout the country.
