(27 february 2019) Jhumpa Lahiri was born in London from a family originally from West Bengal, and grew up in the United States. After winning a Pulitzer Prize for her collection of stories "The Collection of Maladies" and having published three other books ("The Namesake", "Unaccustomed Earth" and "The Lowland"), she moved to Italy, in Rome's Jewish quarter to kick off an extraordinary literary experience: to write in Italian. On March 8th, at the Italian Institute of Culture in Dublin, will present "The Penguin Book of Italian Short", a collection that contains forty stories by authors (from Calvino to Morante) that have stimulated her love for Italian, translated from her into english. The event was organised in collaboration with Penguin Books and the Italian Institute of Culture in London.
