(March 1, 2017) Inclusion, training and the culture are at the heart of the artistic project " The new light of emigration in Wolfsburg", a 28 sqm "monumental" pictorial work by artist Morena Antonucci, who in April of last year was exhibited in the city hall of the City of Wolfsburg, Germany. he art project is hosted and promoted by the Association of Abruzzesi in Wolfsburg (chaired by Cav. Rocco Artale) with the Arbeit und Leben of Lower Saxony, an institution for continuing education in maintenance of the German federation of trade unions, and the Emigration Office at the Volkswagen offices in Wolfsburg. Today the work will find its permanent place within the municipal theater Hans Scharoun in the German city, one of the most important theaters in Germany, which bought it last August. The official presentation will take place Friday, March 17 at 17 at the Wolfsburg theater, in the presence of Italian and German institutional representatives. The event - organized by the theater Hans Scharoun (of which he is director Rainer Steinkamp) in collaboration with Italian Consular Agency in Wolfsburg – will see the opening speech by journalist Hans Karweik. The work is a collaboration with sociologist Vittorio Di Salvatore and the artistic sensibility of Antonucci which, by focusing on the central role of Italian migration culture, re-elaborates and rewrites social themes as an autobiographical experience based on her own life as the daughter of Italian emigrants. The work aims at raising awareness to the concept of inclusion and training of an culture stimulating environment, metaphorically represented by the meeting of Italians and Germans wolves. Overall, The artist intends to launch a positive message on the new phenomenon of contemporary migration by focusing her attention on the “light” that differentiates the old generation of Italian migrants from contemporary migrants. The artist sees the new generation of migrants, living in a fully computerized and globalized society, as destined to have a rosier future than past generations. (Red)

ABOUT / A DIALOGUE-BASED APPROACH

In particular, the work wants to stress the importance and the need, in the specific historical and social context in which we live today, characterized by the phenomenon of migration of peoples, to acquire a dialogic approach, as understood by the German philosopher Habermas (also depicted in the painting) in his concept of communicative action. This dialogical approach can be seen especially from the relationship between the elements of the work: the images in it represented, in fact, seem to be located within a space-time dimension that involves the past, the present and the future, interacting not only with each other, but also with observers who look at the work, creating a real dialogue process.
