(March 2, 2017)  Bacchus Wine International Competition - an important Spanish appointment with the world of wine to be held in Madrid March 9 to 13 – will have, for its fifteenth edition, a special guest: Italy. La Unión Española de Catadores, organizer since the founding of the competition, and the Embassy of Italy formalized in Madrid, at the Embassy salons, the signing of the agreement whereby Italy became the guest country with the participation of 50 Italian wines selected by the Italian operations of the ItalTrade (ICE) and the Chamber of Commerce and Italian Industry for Spain. A ceremony attended by the Italian Ambassador in Madrid, Stefano Sannino, and the director of Bacchus, Fernando Gurucharri, who stressed the consolidated Italy bet for a quality wine making and the opportunity Bacchus represents as a showcase for the promotion of Italian wines by virtue of the presence, in the work days, of an international selection of opinion leaders (Masters of Wine, Sommelier Masters, experts, journalists of the sector). The confirmation of Italy as host country of Bacchus, which is within the context of a wider ongoing cooperation between the Embassy of Italy and the Unión Española de Catadores to raise awareness of Italian wines in Spain, will be accompanied by a series of promotional events taking place during the planned program during the Competition. Among the many events, the ceremony of Bacchus 2017 opening ceremony at the Residence of the Italian Embassy in Madrid (March 9) and the granting of a special "Bacchus de Oro" to the best Italian wine judged by the panel of tasters of Bacchus 2017 . Italy will feature, in fact, the top-level representatives to the panel of tasters of Bacchus 2017, among them Luca Gardini, best sommelier of the world in 2010 and Stefania Vinciguerra, chief editor of DoctorWine portal.
