Cagliari’s Teatro Lirico di lands in America

(March 14, 2017) Friday, March 17 at 11:30 am, in the Conference Room of the Foreign Press in Rome (via dell’Umiltà, 83/c), on the occasion of the exhibition of the Cagliari Teatro Lirico at New York City Opera with "The sunken bell "by Ottorino Respighi (March 31 / 1, 4, 5 April), will be presented the project "Renovation of the Parco della Musica and Cagliari’s Teatro Lirico - Internationalization and innovation of productions for the cultural tourism valorization of local attractors". It is a peculiar and unique project that combines culture to tourism, and also includes new productions of "The Musical Bee" by Lorenzo Da Ponte, "La Fanciulla del West" by Giacomo Puccini in cooperation with Teatro del Giglio in Lucca, Charlotte Opera Carolina and New York City Opera and Ciociara by Marco Tutino with the San Francisco Opera; the international competition is dedicated to the great soprano Giusy Devinu; Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi under the stars of the Forte Village Resort Forte Arena. The project, with the opening of the new theater, an arena inside the Parco della Musica and the restyling of the Conservatory Theatre, binds the extraordinary territory of Sardinia to the image of an ancient land that by investing in its attractors, looks at the future through Art and Culture. Prof. Raffaele Paci (vice president of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia) and dr. Claudio Orazi (superintendent of the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari) will attend the press conference. (Red)

ABOUT / THE PROJECT

The renovation of Cagliari’s Teatro Lirico and the Parco della Musica, which is also part of the Conservatory of Cagliari, provides works to complete the infrastructure and acquisition of equipment (for use in both internal structures, and in outdoor spaces), which will enable to make fully accessible the Park and the Theatres, both for citizens and for diversifying the organization of cultural events. These interventions, accompanied by the programming of quality food production, will enhance the regional territorial attractors, the strengthening of cultural tourism and internationalization. The increase in production and their international scope will in fact bring a significant increase in attendance of fans and tourists, not only in Cagliari and in the metropolitan area, but in the entire region.
