(27 March 2017) A panel discussion on violence against women and a reading from her novel "La bambina e il sognatore" on March 28 in Munich. "Violence against women: how to recognise it in order to fight it and defend yourself”, moderated by Antonio Pellegrino (Bayerischer Rundfunk) is the title of the conference that will take place at 18:00 at the Italian Cultural Institute in both Italian and German. Dacia Maraini will be in conversation with Rolando Madonna (Comites) and Angela Rossi author of "Non una più" published with the support of Comites Munich and will presented at the event. Maike Albath will moderate the reading of Maraini’s “La Bambina e il sognatore” at Literaturhaus at 20:00. The German version was published by Roman and excerpt from the German edition will be read by Thorsten Krohn. (Red)


DACIA MARAINI

Dacia Maraini was born in Fiesole in 1936 and raised in Japan and Sicily. She is a prominent figure in Italian literature. She became friends with Alberto Moravia and Pier Paolo Pasolini. She received numerous awards and her novels have been translated in 20 languages. They have been recently translated into Germany: “La Lunga vita di Marianna Ucría” (2002), “Bagheria” (2002), “Colomba” (2006).
