Legnini and Canzio meet with their Czech counterparts

(30 March 2017) The Vice President of the High Council of the Judiciary, Giovanni Legnini and the First Chief Justice of the Court of Cassation started their official visit to Prague yesterday. Legnini and Canzio will meet with their Czech counterparts today at the embassy: Chief Justice Pavel Sàmal, Supreme Public Proescuter Pavel Zeman, the Chairman of the Supreme Administrative Court Josef Baxa, and the President of the Union of Judge, Daniela Zemanova. "The visit is an important opportunity to view the two judicial systems in light of judicial reforms taking place in the Czech Republic. I want to thank the High Council of the Judiciary for its openness in judicial cooperation with local authorities who have a strong interest the Italian model" stated Ambassador Amati. At the centre of the talks held in Prague are multi-sided issues such as the migratory crisis, and the fight against terrorism.


THE LECTURES

Legnini and Canzio will also meet with the Italian business community at the Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce on March 30. Of particular importance and in light of the ongoing celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome, the Chancellor of the Charles IV University in Prague, Tomas Zima was invited to hold two keynote lectures in front of the two senior members of the Italian judicial system on. The title of the lectures are"Judicial cooperation and reforms. Fighting organised crime and managing migration flows" and "Challenges in the reform of the Supreme Courts and dialogue between the courts".
