Navy, the Carabiniere ship makes a stop in Oman

(April 5, 2017) As part of the naval campaign in Southeast Asia and Australia, the European Multi-Mission Frigate (FREMM) Carabiniere of the Italian Navy will stop from April 11 to 15 in Muscat. The frigate will arrive in Oman, after stops in Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Pakistan, taking part in several exercises with local navies. On April 11, at 11:30 local (9:30 in Italy) the master of the ship, frigate captain Francesco Pagnotta, with Italian military attache in Oman, will hold a press conference on board during which he will present the naval campaign underway and he will illustrate the ship, jewel of the Italian shipbuilding industry. The initiative began with Fincantieri partnership (main sponsor), Leonardo, MBDA Italy, Electronics, Telespazio and Drass. Media partners San Marino RTV and RAI Italy. Nave Carabiniere is the fourth Fremm unit delivered to the Navy in April 2015 in "anti-submarine" version, and is fitted with the latest weapon, defense and the discovery system, advanced in both the military and civilian navy fields. The unit will be committed to ensuring the presence, maritime surveillance, strengthen the cooperative activities already underway with some trans-regional allies and build relationships with new potential partners, according to the institutional tasks of the Armed Forces.
