Film and stage design: Ludovica Ferrario at the Visegrad Film Forum

(25 April 2017) When one talks about Ludovica Ferrario on thinks of talent, creativity, and art, cinema, applause, and awards. She is a special guest of the "Visegrad Film Forum 2017" exhibition which annually invites professionals, students, film enthusiasts, and aspiring filmmakers to Bratislava. The sixth edition of the Visegrad Film Forum starts today, April 25, and will close its doors on Saturday April 29th. The famous Italian production designer will visit the Slovak platform for film training and networking on Wednesday, April 26th (from 10:00 to 13:00, organised by Boiler o.z. in collaboration with FATF VŠMU, Italian Cultural Institute of Bratislava). Born in Rome in 1974, Ferrario is part of Paolo Sorrentino's staff: we owe to her the fascinating views focusing of the details, proportions, and geometry of Rome's architecture found in the 2014 Academy Award winning film for best foreign film, "The Great Beauty". Even the film "Youth" boasts Ferrario's screenplay, not to mention the TV series "The Young Pope," set in the Vatican. For Sorrentino's last film, Ferrario created an exact replica of the Sistine Chapel. (Red)

Ludovica Ferrario began her career in the film industry working with director Franco Zeffireli. She then worked with Wim Wenders (Palermo Shooting) and Abbasa Kiorostami (Certified Copy). Other successful collaborations were "An imperfect mother" and "An imperfect mother's Christmas" by Ivan Cotroneo, "The Ideal City" by Luigi Lo Cascio, "Red and Blue" by Giuseppe Piccioni and "Islands" by Stefano Chiantini.
