Lights and emotions, showing works by Shay Frisch between Italy and Israel

(May 29, 2017) "Laberintos de Luz y Emociones. Field 47283B / N + 1" is the title of the exhibition that was inaugurated in Lima's Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC) in recent days. The exhibition, curated by Massimo Scaringella, is organized in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture in Lima, and consists of six large-scale works in which the Israeli artist Shay Frisch reinterprets the exhibition space through a series of geometric shapes, Assembling industrial products, lights and colors, in a collection of images of great artistic beauty. Shay Frisch was born in 1963 in Israel and currently resides in Rome. His works are exhibited in the museums and foundations of many countries around the world. In 2013, the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome dedicated to the artist an individual exhibition of his works, curated by Achille Bonito Oliva. The exhibition will remain open to the public until July 30. (Red)


ABOUT / THE IIC IN LIMA

The palace, which hosts the offices of the Italian Cultural Institute, was built in the 1930s and is located near the historic center of the city. On March 21, 1972, the building was donated by the Italian-Peruvian community to the Italian Republic. In 2000, the National Cultural Institute of Peru was declared a "Monument to the Cultural Heritage of the Nation." The Italian Institute of Culture has a large and varied library of the Auditorium "Pier Paolo Pasolini" The "Mario Sironi" Art Gallery, the Antonio Raimondi exhibition hall and the "Teatro Pirandello", well-known cultural area of the city of Lima, which also hosts a guest house and "Caffè Italia". There are also 24 classrooms for the teaching of Italian courses and a multimedia language lab. In the same block there is also the Santa Maria del Fiore Chapel.
