World Refugee Day, a celebration of Italian culture

(14 June 2017) "In agreement with the Italian Embassy in Bern, we welcomed the proposal for 'Help for Refugees', which we thank for the support of concrete projects for refugee children and the recognition of the commitment and solidarity that Italy contributes in dealing with the migratory wave that has taken place over the past few years" stated the Italian Consul in Basel, Michele Camerota at the World Refugee Day celebrated on 20 June worldwide. It is annual congregation promoted by the United Nations General Assembly aimed at raising awareness of the status of millions of refugees and asylum seekers forced to flee from wars and violence. This year in Basel: "We share our well-being and give the opportunity to 30 refugee children to participate in a summer camp!" is in fact the motto chosen for this year's edition. "The Italian Consulate in Basel opens its garden for an event promoted and organised by Help for Refugees Basel Switzerland. Collaboration with the Consulate takes place in the spirit of Italian culture. The projects sponsored by Help for Refugees Basel Switzerland, which will be presented during the evening, will take place mainly in Southern Italy. In particular, the project 'Baraonda': a summer camp in Lecce for 30 refugee children". (Red)
