Seminars and tastings: Wine Italy bets on Japan

(August 7, 2017) With imports of Italian wine that in 2016 exceeded 400,000 hl for a value of more than 150 million euros, Japan is the most mature among the Asian markets, keeping the eighth absolute position among the markets for Italian wine and confirming its place as first market in Asia, distinguished by a historically passionate consumer base of made in Italy and with strong orientation towards quality. An effective and dynamic industry promotion tool is represented by the Wine Exchange in Japan, organized by Italtrade. This year, the event will take place in two stages: November 7 in Kyoto at the Rihga Royal Hotel and November 8 in Tokyo at the Intercontinental Tokyo Bay Hotel. The Wine Exchange, reserved for trade professionals, takes place under the VI "3000 Years of Italian Wine" exhibition in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Tokyo, a promotional container that captures a significant number of communication and commercial initiatives dedicated to Italian wine. The show will officially open on October 3 in Tokyo with a press conference and will take place between October and November, gathering numerous promotional initiatives dedicated to Italian wine in a unitary and strong media impact, combining restaurant and large distribution activities, seminars and tastings, and involving trade operators, the press, wine lovers and end-users from all over Japan.
