ITALIAN EMIGRATION
The symbolic start date of Italian emigration to the Americas can be traced back to October 4th, 1852 when the Transatlantic company was founded in Genoa. Emigration to the Americas was the second wave that followed the 'great emigration' in the second half of the 19th century and the first decades of the twentieth century.
