Pirandello's

On Friday December 8th at 19:00 at the Petro Marko Theatre, students of the "Ismail Qemali" University of Vlorë, will present for the first time in Vlorë "La giara" with screenplay by director Neritan Mehmetaj for the 150th anniversary of the birth of Luigi Pirandello. The new musical pieces were composed by Maestro Aulon Naci and costumes and scenography are by Drini Shehu. "La giara" is one of Pirandello's most well-known pieces: the plot revolves around the protagonist - a rich landowner (Don Lolò Zirafa) - and his greed, which is simultaneously situated at the origin of a comic and grotesque story, but with a profound moral. The Italian Consulate General in Vlorë communicates that the guest of honour will be Professor Pierfranco Bruni, archaeology director of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, former member of the UNESCO Commission for the dissemination of Italian culture abroad, and responsable for - on behalf of MiBACT (Ministry of Culturel Heritgage) - the study on minorities in Italy. Professor Bruni is also a leading expert on Pirandello.
