Cinema: Budapest remembers Giorgio Pressburger

A special event in Budapest in memory of Giorgio Pressburger: a naturalized Italian director, writer, and playwright originally from Hungary, who died in Trieste in October at the age of 80 (1937-2017). The event will be held on Tuesday February 6th at 18:00 in the Federico Fellini Hall at the Italian Institute of Culture in Budapest, organiser of the event. It will be attended by Viviana de Grisogono Pressburger, Sarah Maestri, Mauro Caputo, and many others. There will also be a screening of "Dietro il buio" (Behind the Darkness) (2011) directed by Pressburger based on the play by Claudio Magris "Lei dunque capirà" (She will understand). The film arrived in Italian cinemas on May 25, 2012. "Dietro il buio" is the story of a young woman's journey, a sort of modern Eurydice (Sarah Maestri) through a labyrinthine "Rest Home" that her husband wants her leave and bring her back to normal life. The woman's journey, through dungeons, offices, dirt roads, vestibules, marshes, fields, is accompanied by the president of the retirement home, which is only seen as a shadow. Little by little, we discover that it is a journey on the other side and an attempt to leave the world of the dead thanks to a special permission and to return to that of the living, to her beloved husband - a successful writer who is still in love with her who arrives to the "Rest Home" to bring her back to life.
