Plastic surgery: Parma professor joins the journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

November 23rd, 2015 - Professor Edoardo Raposio was elected Associate Editor of the Global Open version of "Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery," the journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgery, first source in the field of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. Professor Raposio is a member of the Plastic Surgery section of the Surgery Department at the University of Parma, and is in charge of the Skin, Minimally Invasive, Regenerative and Plastic Surgery Department of the University Hospital of Parma. Born in Genoa in 1965, Raposio graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery in 1991, and specialized, again with honors, in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Genoa, and in Hand Surgery at the University of Florence. After attending training courses in the US and Brazil, Raposio moved to the University of Tromso, Norway, where he carried out clinical care activities in the Department of Plastic Surgery, and obtained (with honors) the title of Research Doctor. Raposio then returned to Genoa, first as Medical Director of the Plastic Surgery Department of the National Institute for Cancer Research, then as Confirmed University Researcher within the Department of Plastic Surgery of the University. In February 2010, he moved to Padua, at the University, where he serves as Head of Plastic Surgery and Director of the Specialization School in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetics Surgery. Raposio authored over 320 national and international publications and abstracts, and takes part, as a speaker or lecturer, in numerous courses and congresses in Italy and abroad; he responsible for many research projects, and has won several international awards.
