(10 august 2018) The Annecy Cinéma Italien Festival, organised in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture of Lyon and the Italian Consulate General in Lyon, will take place from September 24th to 30th in Annecy, France. Annecy Cinéma Italien is the historic Italian film festival held annually in the French city of Annecy, in Haute-Savoie. The first edition took place in 1983. After 35 editions the festival continues to explore French cinema, reaffirming its role as a leading international event among those dedicated to Italian cinema. As of last year, the Annecy Cinéma Italien, organised by the Bonlieu Scène Nationale theatre, embarks on a new journey with the arrival of the artistic director Francesco Giai Via, who curated a programme focusing on the contemporary. This year's festival poster was designed by Italian illustrator Emiliano Ponzi, who is also a collaborator with the New York Times, Armani, Le Monde, and Amnesty International.
