The Vice-President of the Regional Council of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Francesco Russo has been appointed as ambassador of the Institute for Chinese Culture to the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region. The Institute is based in Rome in Piazza San Luigi de 'Francesi, and in Chongqing, China one of the main cities where the New Silk Road will develop. The Association was founded with the aim of trying to strengthen cultural, scientific, and economic exchanges between Italy and China. In particular, the task of local ambassadors is to strengthen relations between Asia and individual Italian regions. The Institute consists of the membership of politicians belonging to each side, a Scientific Committee, teachers from main Italian universities. "For Friuli Venezia Giulia and for Trieste in particular, China represents a great opportunity from both a commercial and cultural point of view. I hope that this assignment will give me the opportunity to work with even harder to create new opportunities not only in the field of port authority and redevelopment of Porto Vecchio in Trieste, but also, more generally, towards the development of new relationships that favour the internationalisation process of FVG companies. Not to mention, education for young people"
