Opera:

The concert "Amore al cor gentil" by Valentina Varriale and Erika Beretti will take place on Monday, September 10th at the Auditorium Umberto Agnelli of the Italian Institute of Culture in Tokyo. The two sopranos, accompanied by the pianist Antonio Maria Pergolizzi, will retrace almost a century of lyrical tradition through the nuances of the Italian repertoire. Beginning with Rossini's pieces, whose 150th anniversary of his death is celebrated this year, (the Soirées musicales and The Venetian regatta) followed by an opera repertoire with a bel canto duet from Norma (Vincenzo Bellini) and dramatic heroines from Verdi and Puccini, arias from Aida, Il corsaro, Un ballo in maschera, Simon Boccanegra, Tosca, and La rondine. Varriale and Beretti are two graduate students of the first edition of the "Fabbrica" Young Artist Program, the professional placement program for young talents in opera of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. The recital will be preceded by the presentation of the project by the manager and founder of the programme, Eleonora Pacetti. (9Colonne)
