In the 20th century, Italian musician marked the history of classical and modern music. That Italian was Mario Castelnuovo Tedesco, born in Florence on April 13th, 1895. He moved to Beverly Hills in 1939 to escape racial laws. There he wrote pieces that rendered him famous around the world, especially for his classical guitar repertoire. He also put his name in the soundtracks of Hollywood Masterpieces and educated composers that would later go on to make history in cinema among which is John Williams. For the 50th anniversary of his death, the Italian Institute of Culture of Istanbul commemorates him with a performance by Roberto Traianini (cello) Fiorenzo Pascalucci (piano), and Davide Alogna (violin) who will perform some his most noted compositions. The concert will be held at the Casa d’Italia in Istanbul on September 12th.
