A friendly face in every language
Friendship, empathy, reliability in all the languages of the world. Poste Italiane has its roots in a nation that has experienced, first-hand, a mass migration of its citizens and the pain of being separated from one’s family and loved ones. For decades, the mailman has represented contact between continents for thousands of families, much like a light in the darkness.
This is a story that belongs to generations of Italians. It is deeply inscribed in the collective memory of the nation, a memory that Poste Italiane has always been a part of. They have shared their stories, fears and hopes and across the peninsula, Poste Italiane’s mission is to unite and bring people closer together.
Now that Italy and the rest of the world have been propelled into the digital era, Poste Italiane has revisited its mission and values, serving the increasing number of foreign customers, which has surpassed the 5 million mark. These customers live today in similar conditions as yesterday’s Italian emigrants. Despite growth of the internet, smartphones, low cost flights and television, distances remain insurmountable especially when no one speaks your language. The gap separating you from your home can become unbearable.
For this reason, in spite of the advent of new technologies integrated on the Poste Italiane platform, the chance for human contact is often much more important than IT efficiency. Today’s Poste Italiane is founded in the past of a country that looks toward a future where a multicultural society learns to value its own potential.
Don’t be afraid to speak up, there are friendly faces who speak your language and you will be understood.
