Italy featured in the night<br>of european literature

(6 June 2018) On Saturday, June 9th the 6th edition of the Night of European Literature will take place in Lisbon. It is a literary journey that will stretch across 14 areas in the charming Bairro Alto district to listen to the works of 14 contemporary European writers. The Night of European Literature is organised by Cultural Institutes and Embassies that are part of the EUNIC Portugal network, including the Italian Institute of Culture, the British Council, the Camões - Instituto da Cooperação and Língua, the Austrian Embassy, the Embassy of the Czech Republic, the Croatian Embassy, the Greek Embassy, the Irish Embassy, the Polish Embassy, the Goethe-Institut, the Institut Français du Portugal, Istituto Cervantes, the Romanian Cultural Institute, and the Iberian-American Institute of Finland - to which the Portuguese representation of the European Commission has been associated. Italy will be represented by Errico Buonanno who will read pieces chosen from his latest book "Extraordinary lives of flying men" in Italian in the Sala da Irmandade of the Church of Jesus (Igreja de Nossa Senhor de Jesus / Igreja Paroquial das Mercês) translated into Portuguese by the actor João Vicente. The readings will take place between 19.00 and 23.30 in the presence of some authors who will speak for the occasion. The texts will be read in original language and in Portuguese by professional actors and pupils of the School of Theatre and Cinema of Lisbon (ESTC).
