(7 June 2018) The Italian National team will leave for Istanbul today where it will compete in the Karate 1 Premier League 2018. The Italian “azzurra” delegation – under the guidance of Davide Benetello – is composed of the technical director, Pierluigi Aschieri, Christian Verrecchia, Vincenzo Figuccio and by the Physical Therapist Massimo Civada. The competing athletes are: Mattia Busato and Viviana Bottaro for Kata; Sara Cardin (55kg) and Simone Marion (+84 kg) in Kumite. Qualifiers and callbacks will take place tomorrow for the Kata women’s and men’s individual match. For Kumite, the qualifiers and callbacks will be for the men’s 60, 67, and 75kg categories and the women’s 50 and 55 kg categories.
