Theatre, Petruzzelli di Bari enchants Japan

(27 June 2018) Ten years after the reconstruction of the Petruzzelli of Bari, the prestigious Italian theatre brings Puccini's Turandot and Verdi's Trovatore to Japan. This tour will be of great media and artistic impact, consisting in the participation of 140 artists, musicians, directors and staff of Petruzzelli from Italy, thanks to the patronage of the Italian Embassy in Tokyo. The Theatre group will visit Nagoya (Shimin Kaikan), Otsu (Biwako Hall) and Osaka (Festival Hall). "This is an incredible opportunity for the Bari Theatre and for Italian culture" according to Ambassador Giorgio Starace. The Petruzzelli is proving once again to be among the quality theatres of our country. The success of the shows in Tokyo is encouraging and I am sure it will be replicated in other cities of the archipelago, responding to the imperative to bring Italy's cultural excellence to Japan. A special thanks goes to all those who have made this tour possible: in particular to the superintendent of the Petruzzelli, Massimo Biscardi, and to the Japanese partners of Concert Doors".
