The premio Strega Award

On Tuesday, July 3 at 19:00 the "Literary Café" of the Italian Institute of Culture in Hamburg is devoted to the finalists of the 2018 Strega Prize. The writers selected in the final five are: Helena Janeczek (La ragazza con la Leica), Marco Balzano (Resto qui), Sandra Petrignani (La corsara. Ritratto di Natalia Ginzburg), Lia Levi (Questa sera è già domani), and Carlo D'Amicis (Il gioco). The renowned literary prize is awarded annually in Italy to recently published literary works. The jury is composed of 400 people belonging to the cultural scene, mainly literary critics, "Amici della domenica" (Sunday Friends). Groups of readers residing abroad have also been entitled to vote and since 2015, a committee of the Italian Institute of Culture in Hamburg regularly participates in the selection.
