Italian Films at the IIC in Tokyo

The Sala Puccini of the Italian Institute of Culture in Tokyo will host a series of Italian cinema screenings starting on Wednesday, July 18th until December. Some recent Italian films will be showcased to the public, most of which have been released between 2016 and 2017. The films - shown in Italian with English subtitles - will be screened by Professor Daniela De Palma, Lecturer of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, who will highlight some aspects of the works and their meaning. The first film will be "L'Amatore" by Maria Mauti. "L'Amatore" is a journey into the intimate folds a renowned fascist-era architect and town planner, Piero Portaluppi (Milan 1888 - 1967), through the rediscovery of his work, his film diary, an unpublished 16mm archive filmed and edited by the architect.
