(11 July 2018) Yesterday, under the patronage of the Lebanese Minister of Culture, Dr. Ghattas Khoury, a collaboration agreement was signed between the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma and the Lebanon Opera - the country's first opera company - in the Great Hall of the Lebanese Ministry of Culture in Beirut. The promotion and dissemination of opera in Lebanon represented one of the main points of the agreement, which also includes the translation of the opera into Arabic - a form of art that is emerging throughout the Middle East. According to superintendent Carlo Fuortes "we are very satisfied with this agreement which confirms the role achieved by Rome's Opera Theatre at the international level. After the tour to Oman's great success, the opening and collaboration of our theatre towards the Arab countries continues, and the will to make our cultures dialogue with a spirit of mutual exchange and enrichment".
