Cultural and Creative Industries, Italy and Germany compared

(11 July 2018) The Italian-German Chamber of Commerce - ITALCAM - has organised a conference entitled "Culture and creativity" as raw materials of the future? The role of cultural and creative industries in Italy and Germany " at the Bayerische Landesbank on July 19th (17:00) on the occasion of the General Assembly of Members and in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Berlin. The renowned interdependence and economic reciprocity between Italy and Germany are rooted over the centuries. Yet, there is a sector that has remained at the margins of the debate until now, but which nevertheless holds great potential: the cultural and creative industries, in which our two countries are at the top of the European rankings, both in terms of added value (€ 98, 8 billion in Germany and € 92 billion in Italy), and jobs (1.6 million in Germany, 1.52 million in Italy). Culture has a multiplier effect on the rest of the economy, even more evident today thanks to the processes of digital transformation. The conference aims to compare and enhance Italian and German experiences and act as a stimulus for a discussion on development models that focus on cultural capital.
