Gianluca Libertucci, organist of St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, will be the protagonist of the concert "Dives in Misericordia" on Monday December 3rd at the Franciscan Church in Bratislava. The event was organised in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of the Slovak Bratislava. Libertucci arrives for the first time in the Slovak capital after having performed in important organ festivals in many countries of the world. The concert programme will range from classical music by great musicians such as Georg Friedrich Händel, Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, César Franck, Théodore Dubois, Léon Boëlmann, to pieces by musicians closer to us, such as Flor Peeters, considered as the greatest interpreter of 20th century sacred music, or Cardinal Domenico Bartolucci composer and Master of the Sistine Papal Music Chapel and a scholar of Santa Cecilia. Being an organist of the Saint Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, Libertucci had the privilege of performing regularly in the presence of Pope John Paul II, Benedict XVI, and Francis. He has directed the restoration work of all the organs of St. Peter's Basilica. In 1993, he played the organ during the funeral Mass for the well-known director Federico Fellini. (9Colonne)
