The new production of the Barber of Seville by Gioachino Rossini is all-Italian, which debuted at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna on March 17th (replicas until March 28th). The show will then go on tour in Japan in June, again with the TCBO ensembles. The new stage design, entirely produced by the Comunale, was designed by the young Italian director Federico Grazzini, in his first collaboration with the Bolognese theatre. The Barber of Seville is the production that the Teatro Comunale of Bologna has chosen to take on tour in Japan in June along with Giuseppe Verdi's Rigoletto directed by Alessio Pizzech, also first performed in Bologna from 19 to 30 March. Rossini's opera will be staged in Osaka (Festival Hall) on Saturday 16 June, in Tokyo (Bunkamura Orchard Hall) on Wednesday 20 June, in Yokohama (Kanagawa Kenmin Hall) on Friday 22 June, again at Bunkamura Orchard Hall in Tokyo on 24 June and Fukuoka (Across Fukuoka) on June 26th.  The tour was organised in collaboration with the Concert Doors Co. Ltd., which since 1996, has organised around fifty tours in Japan with Italian and European theatres.
