(8 April 2019) The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ICCJ) presents the seventh edition of the JOOP (Japan Olive Oil Prize) competition, which will take place in Tokyo today until April 12th. The objective of the competition is to promote the best extra virgin olive oils in the world and represents a unique opportunity for producers to make their brand known through an international platform linked to values of quality and professionalism. Prizes for the winners include participation in important agri-food fairs, articles in specialised magazines and promotional events in the most prestigious distribution channels in Japan. The categories in which the oils will compete are the following: Biological, Blend, DOP, IGP, and Monocultivar. Certificates of merit are also provided for oils of particular value (high polyphenol content), various honorable mentions, and the "Best of Country" prize awarded to the oil of each participating country with the highest score. The winners will be announced and prizes will be awarded in Tokyo on April 12th.
