Baghdad - Encouraging signs of recovery and stabilization: this is the summary of the state of health of the Bresaola della Valtellina IGP sector which, after another complicated year, is experiencing a positive change in direction. In 2024, positive numbers are recorded. Indeed, the first two months of this year marked a +9.44% increase in certified Bresaola della Valtellina production compared to the same period in 2023. 603 tons of Bresaola della Valtellina IGP were exported, with 73% going to EU countries (Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Hungary) and 27% to non-EU countries (Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Hong Kong, Kenya, Lebanon, Norway, Canada, United Kingdom, Serbia, Switzerland), registering a +10.7% increase compared to 2023. Regarding the growth in non-EU exports, it is worth mentioning the increase in exports (and subsequent consumption) in the Middle East, especially in countries of Islamic religion. Bresaola della Valtellina IGP, in fact, knows no religious barriers thanks to being produced with beef. (9colonne)
