ITA Airways soars: inaugural flight to Accra opens sub-Saharan gateway

Accra - ITA Airways launched its inaugural direct flight from Rome Fiumicino to Accra, marking the airline's first venture into Sub-Saharan Africa. The departure ceremony at Terminal E of Leonardo da Vinci Airport in Fiumicino was attended by several dignitaries, including Pierfrancesco Carino, VP International Sales at ITA Airways; Ivan Bassato, Chief Aviation Officer of Aeroporti di Roma; Merene Benyah, Ambassador of Ghana to Italy; Mario Bartoli, Advisor and Head of the Office for Central and West African Countries at the Directorate General for Globalization and Global Issues of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ascenzo Forte, Head of Institutional Relations and Communication at ENAC; and Raffaello Biselli, Councillor for Commerce and Markets, Productive Activities, and Suap at the Municipality of Fiumicino.
