High Technology / Mission to Italy for Mozambique

Maputo - Digitalization practices and strategies for economic development, enhancing production system efficiency, speeding up procedures, and overcoming barriers to service access were key topics during a mission to Italy by a delegation from Mozambique's Ministry of Science, Technology, and Higher Education, led by Permanent Secretary Nilsa Sandra Miquidade. Organized by the Agency for Digital Italy, a partner in the DIGIT development cooperation project funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (Aics), the delegation visited several of Italy's high-tech centers of excellence. These included the City of Science and the Apple Academy at the University Federico II in Naples, the LUISS Venture Hub accelerator, the Eni Joule innovation school, and the Dock3 incubator at the University Roma Tre. Each visit provided valuable insights for planning the technological hubs that the Agency and its partners aim to establish in Mozambique through the DIGIT project and the Vamoz Digital project, funded by the European Commission. The mission concluded with a visit to the Agency's headquarters, where delegates shared their initial reflections on their Italian experience. Digitalization is a strategic focus for Aics, especially for its office in Maputo, which is engaged in numerous project initiatives. (9colonne)
