Dubai and Italy strengthen Police cooperation

Dubai - Prefect Vittorio Pisani, the Chief of Police, welcomed Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Chief of Dubai Police, on Friday at the Viminale, accompanied by Colonel Tariq Sultan Al Swaidi, Director of Dubai's Wanted Person Department. The meeting, organized by the Office for the Coordination and Planning of Police Forces, was attended by Deputy Chief of Police Prefect Raffaele Grassi and Prefect Annunziato Vardè, Director of the FF.p. Coordination Office. The discussion primarily focused on enhancing police efforts against transnational criminal organizations, drug trafficking, and money laundering involving cryptocurrencies. There was also significant emphasis on developing shared strategies to address challenges related to managing migration flows, particularly those originating from the eastern shores of the Arabian Peninsula. Pisani expressed profound gratitude to Dubai police for their recent achievements in collaboration with Italian authorities, including the successful tracing and apprehension of 13 fugitives wanted by Italian courts, and the seizure of assets linked to money laundering totaling approximately 50 million euros. The meeting concluded with detailed discussions on avenues for enhancing operational cooperation through expanded training, professional exchanges, and immediate measures to enhance coordinated investigative efforts in mutual areas of criminal interest. General Al Marri expressed sincere appreciation for the opportunities presented and reaffirmed his commitment to continuing and strengthening the special collaborative. (9colonne)
