Launch of the '

The call for the fourth edition of "M'illumino / d'immenso," the international poetry translation award, has been announced. The Italian Cultural Institute of Cairo, the Embassy of Switzerland in Egypt, and the Trādūxit Laboratory, under the patronage of the Libraries of Rome, have launched the competition dedicated to translation into Arabic. The winner will receive a one-week residency at the Casa delle Traduzioni in Rome, 200 euros as a contribution to travel expenses, a selection of books, and the publication of the translations in the following media outlets: Addiwan Algiadid (Egypt), Albayt (Morocco), Almutargem Aliraqi (Iraq), Biblit – Ideas and Resources for Literary Translators (Italy), Boring Books (Egypt), Specimen. The Babel Review of Translations (Switzerland). The international jury is composed of prestigious poets and translators: Maram Al-Masri (Syria), Reddad Cherrati (Morocco), Islam Fawzi (Egypt), Aldo Nicosia (Italy). The award ceremony will be held in October at the Italian Cultural Institute of Cairo. The deadline for submitting applications is 11:59 PM on August 20, 2024.
