Addis Ababa – The Customs and Monopolies Agency participated in a visit by a delegation from the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, composed of representatives from the Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority and the Ethiopian Agricultural Authority. This visit was organized by the Carabinieri Command for Health Protection in collaboration with the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation in Addis Ababa. The delegation had the opportunity to learn about the roles and responsibilities of Italian authorities in food, phytosanitary, and customs control, with particular emphasis on import/export procedures and traceability systems. The presentation opened with a greeting from Andrea Mazzella, Director of International Relations at ADM, who highlighted the Agency's expertise in promoting agri-food safety, areas of cooperation with the Carabinieri and the Financial Police, and industry associations in combating the trade of products harmful to consumer health, ensuring their traceability. The delegation then visited the Agency's analysis laboratories, appreciating the quality of the facilities and the rigor of the control procedures applied to food and agricultural products. ADM reaffirms its commitment to strengthening international cooperation to ensure safety and legality in global trade. (9colonne)
