Beijing – Fabio Pollice, the Rector of the University of Salento, was also part of the Italian delegation that recently visited Beijing during the state visit to China by President Sergio Mattarella. One of the highlights of the visit was the "China-Italy University Rectors Dialogue Meeting," an exclusive forum that brought together the rectors of Italian and Chinese universities. In the presence of Presidents Mattarella and Xi Jinping, as well as senior officials from both governments, a bilateral protocol was presented, focusing on technological innovation and the exchange of knowledge in both scientific and humanities fields.
"It emerged from the forum," said Pollice, "the decisive role that universities play in promoting peace and solidarity among peoples. The forum demonstrated the cohesive power of inter-university cooperation and the effectiveness of cultural and scientific diplomacy. The dialogue with Chinese universities this week opens up various collaboration opportunities that, I hope, will offer new prospects for the students of Unisalento and for our entire academic community."
