Berlin – “We Are Not Afraid.” This is the title of the series of events conceived by Katia Squillaci and developed by Lucia Conti in 2020, which has since evolved into an established format, thanks also to the support of institutional partners and prominent figures from civil society. The next event, organized by Squillaci and the Berlin Comites in collaboration with the Mitte, will take place on November 25 at the Comites headquarters, focusing on economic violence against women. Economic violence is a form of abuse no less devastating than others, although it is less visible in public debate. It is characterized by the control, limitation, or manipulation of the victim's financial resources to reduce their autonomy and therefore their freedom, thus gaining power in the relationship. Moreover, it is a form of oppression that often paves the way for other types of violence, exacerbating already critical situations. Moderated by Mitte co-editor Lucia Conti, the speakers will include Alessandra Pantani (Rete Donne), Cristina Cipolletta (Isi), and psychologists Caterina Nicolosi (Salutare), Annalisa Maggiani (SUSI), as well as Ghislena Leotta, who will join via livestream.
