Oman Air expands connectivity with new direct flights from Muscat to Rome

The first Oman Air flights from Muscat to Rome and back took off on Friday, enhancing the connectivity between Italy and Oman with four direct weekly flights. In early December, the Italian Ambassador to Oman, Pierluigi D'Elia, met with Con Korfiatis, CEO of Oman Air, to celebrate the event and emphasize the significance of these new routes for both countries.

The Ambassador praised the deep and lasting relationship between Italy and Oman, highlighting the strong diplomatic, cultural, and economic ties that have been developed. He also emphasized the importance of improving connectivity, especially to facilitate travel between the two countries, noting that the direct link between Rome and Muscat will open new opportunities for tourism and business. This will make flights more accessible to both Omani and Italian citizens, as well as to tourists and investors from around the world, contributing significantly to the growth of the tourism and trade sectors in both countries.

Con Korfiatis stated that the new flights to Rome are a fresh addition that further enriches the strong relationship Oman Air has built with Italy over the past 13 years through its flights to Milan. He also reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to enhancing connectivity between the two countries to promote and strengthen economic, cultural, and tourism ties.
