Made in Italy excellence: Altagamma joins the memorandum of understanding with Maeci

Altagamma, the foundation representing the excellence of Made in Italy, adheres to the Memorandum of Understanding of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs signed by 11 trade associations. The protocol will be signed at Villa Madama, Rome, at the start of the ‘Days of Italian Fashion in the World’ in the presence of Minister Antonio Tajani and aims to strengthen the global positioning of the Italian fashion, jewellery and eyewear sectors. Altagamma expresses its satisfaction on behalf of the 119 leading companies in the fashion, jewellery, design, food, hospitality, motor and nautical sectors and will make its contribution by collaborating with institutions and associations in promoting Italian-made excellence in key and emerging markets. ‘Internationalisation is one of the strategic pillars of Altagamma: exports represent an average of 60% of the turnover of our companies and many of them have a stable presence in key countries. This protocol with Maeci enhances the role of Italian-made excellence - worth EUR 144 billion and 7.4% of Italy's GDP - in major global markets, promoting its unique values of creativity, innovation, and manufacturing quality. Eighty per cent of the world's high-end creations are made in Italy, and it is essential to protect this competitive advantage also with significant system operations such as this one,’ said Matteo Lunelli, president of Altagamma
