Sommariva advanced to the second round with the 12th-fastest time in the first run, led by Austrian Lukas Pachner (49.35). Visintin secured qualification in the second run, finishing 31st overall, while Matteo Menconi and Niccolò Colturi were eliminated. In the women's competition, Bergamo's Moioli placed ninth in the first run. Charlotte Bankes posted the best time (54.60), with Moioli finishing 1.69 seconds behind. The first event in China is scheduled for Saturday, February 1, followed by race 2 the next day, preceded by pre-heats.
