La Plata – The sixth edition of the Italian Gastronomy Festival in La Plata, the capital of Buenos Aires province, wrapped up on Sunday evening. The event was organized by the Italy-Argentina Territorial Coordination Agency with support from the Municipality of La Plata and other entities participating in the Italy-Argentina Cultural, Tourism and Production Corridor.
“The results were definitely positive,” said Nicolás Moretti, director of the Corridor, in a statement to 9Colonne. “The goal is to support what I call the culturalization of Italian identity, which allows us to create spaces for social engagement where we can promote Italian values and foster connections with them here in Argentina. Gastronomy is a powerful tool in this sense, as it conveys Italian cultural values. We were truly proud to see such a large turnout – people came from all over the province of Buenos Aires.”
The Ministry of Business and Made in Italy included the event among the 500 initiatives promoting Made in Italy worldwide, and it was also part of the official celebrations for Made in Italy Day on April 15th.
“It’s a great honor for us to be part of this international initiative of the Italian System abroad,” Moretti noted. “We also promoted the Roots Tourism project with a dedicated booth during the festival. We view this project through the lens of the Corridor’s experience, which forges direct ties with Italian regions – particularly right now with the Puglia Region.”
The organizers are already focused on future challenges, starting with the development of a gastronomic bridge between Italy and Argentina. “We’re working with interested entrepreneurs and will soon travel to Puglia to build stronger connections with Italy’s culinary centers and showcase the results of the festival we’ve just concluded.”
