Fearless Five is the new project by Enrico Rava, an “audacious” quintet composed of a new generation of musicians who bring their youthful energy to match the vast experience of the legendary bandleader.
At the annual Top Jazz 2024 awards, the historic magazine Musica Jazz named Fearless Five both “Album of the Year” and “Group of the Year.”
Once again, Rava has managed to assemble a group full of freshness and creative depth. The Fearless Five include the dynamic trombonist Matteo Paggi (Top Jazz 2024’s “Best New Talent”), the extraordinary drummer and singer Evita Polidoro (one of Rava’s surprising discoveries at the Siena Jazz workshops), alongside the driving force of Francesco Ponticelli on double bass and Francesco Diodati on guitar—both longtime collaborators who form the core of this bold and fearless quintet.
