Ali Al Salem – A change of command ceremony was recently held at the Ali Al Salem Air Base for the Italian National Contingent Command – Air Task Force Air Kuwait, operating as part of Operation “Prima Parthica” / Inherent Resolve.
The event, chaired by Major General Enrico Degni, Head of Operational Support at the Italian Joint Operations Command, was attended by the Italian Ambassador to Kuwait, Lorenzo Morini, Apostolic Nuncio to Kuwait, Qatar, and Bahrain, Archbishop Eugene Martin Nugent, and international representatives from the anti-Daesh coalition, along with civilian and military guests.
General Degni highlighted the crucial role of the IT NCC AIR – TFA-K within the anti-Daesh coalition and expressed gratitude to the personnel for their contributions in a strategically important context. He praised Colonel Zuliani for the achievements under his leadership and extended best wishes to incoming commander Colonel Fabio Bergamini.
In his address, outgoing commander Colonel Matteo Zuliani thanked coalition partners for their collaboration and expressed deep appreciation to the contingent’s personnel for their dedication, professionalism, and constant commitment to the mission's objectives.
