Mogadishu – A change-of-command ceremony was held at the International Campus in Mogadishu, where Brigadier General Elio Manes officially assumed leadership of the European Union Training Mission in Somalia (EUTM-S).

In his first remarks as commander, General Manes reaffirmed his commitment to continuing and further strengthening training, mentoring and advisory activities in support of Somali security forces, in line with the European Union’s mandate. “I take on this role with a strong sense of responsibility and in continuity with the work carried out by my predecessors,” he said, stressing the importance of high-quality training and strategic support rooted in EU values.
